Osakaco Station Area has Japanese style visual interest. / 오사카코역 즐기기/ Travel Story / Life PhotographysteemCreated with Sketch.

I took these photos around osakaco station ( 오사카코 역,大阪港駅, おおさかこうえき). There is Osaka Port and aquarium 가이유칸(Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan).

I was heading to Kaiyukan. My first impression at osakaco station area was antique, old, natural and flowers. That was one of things and feelings I wanted to find out in Japan. I sometimes feel Japan is miniature country. Something even some structures are really tiny and cute. I saw tiny flowers, shops and houses around osakaco station. It was fun to see.

Don't say the flowers look like any other flowers you have in your country. I felt different with the environment. Takoyaki is almost everywhere in Osaka.

The cafe was also tiny, simple but it was impressive for me. Don't you want to have some coffee in the cafe?

When I travel, I enjoy streets as well as a destination. I think it was only about 200 meters from osakaco station to Kaiyukan aquarium. I wasn't hurry to get to the destination. I felt really good in the street.

This story will continue...^.^

Almost every single meal in Japan has been better than almost every single meal anywhere else. Osaka is a fun city too!

There are many yummy foods. :) Eating is a biggest pleasure in Japan. @whatamidoing.

What's takoyaki?

It is a yummy food like a little flour paste ball with octopus. According to a dictionary, takoyaki is a famous Osaka, Japan dumpling made of batter, octopus, tenkasu, pickled ginger, konnyaku, and green onion, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, green laver (nori), mayonnaise, and katsuobushi (fish shavings). Making takoyaki requires a takoyakiki, a special frying pan made of cast iron with hemispherical molds.A piece of octopus piece is in the middle of a round flour paste ball which is not 100% cooked. @sulev :)

sounds delicious! Thanks for explaining! @bontonstory

Really delicious. :)

And for the word itself. Tako = Octopus, yaki = fry/burn(can mean many things depending on the context). Yaki is a good word to know as you find it in many food related words. I guess you will know some of these words: teppanyaki, yakitori, teriyaki, sukiyaki.

@bontonstory, thanks for a nice write-up. Did you have coffee in that place?

Great pics. I love the Ferris wheel! I bet they have some great shops that serve potstickers (fried dumplings)!! I love those things! Or Crab Rangoon!

You always walk through some nice places @bontonstory and get some wonderful photos of your journey. Takoyaki sounds good :)
