From Arpanet To Decenternet - Who Does The Internet Serve?
Yo yo Internet Land, Wattup?
On the most recent, special edition, episode of The D-Files, we talked about net neutrality, and specifically, Decenternet.
Being the deep, reflective, type of person that I am, I wanted to share some additional thoughts on this, to add further context to the current situation on the monopolisation of information, that is currently taking place on the internet.
To do this, I give the example of how Satoshi Nakamoto's vision of providing a decentralisation of the financial monopoly through blockchain technology, is akin to Decenternet's vision of doing the same for net neutrality.
The paradigm shift that occurred in the way that people could communicate, share, and access information, instantly, despite geographical distances, as a result of aparnet, is still reverberating through the space and time continuum.
Not all advancements that have come since then though, through its evolution into the internet, and beyond, have been for the benefit of its users (us).
In this vlog, I talk about the dangers that lie ahead of us as a community of internet users, if the issue of net neutrality is not addressed.
I also look at Decenternet, and encourage you, the viewer, to do the same, to help create through our own mycelium networks, a wave of energy, to push this into the right direction.

Read through the white paper -- looks good. Do you have any access to getting involved in mining etc...
Also @eftnow we need a DTube version of youtube's Brad Yates, is that you possibly?
@bawiii - I don't think mining has started yet. I'd keep an eye on their social media, especially the Telegram group - the links are in Bob's post.
LOL - reagrding being the DTube Brad Yates, I started down that path and did loads of tapping videos. However, DTube vids don't stick around forever, so I put it on hold. If you have a subject or subjects that you'd like me to do some tapping about, just let me know.
I still have all the originals and I hope that DTube will have permanent storage soon.

Hi! Im sure there are others in my shoes, with bad internet connections but are able to download vids... Is there a way to download vids like is possible with pootube vids, but from d.tube instead?! THEN I'd Finally be able to watch things I want!
That's a great idea @movingman, perhaps suggesting it to one of the @dtube mods in their discord server would be a great start to making this happen?

I saw @meno recently started adding youtube mirrors to the end of his posts! This is a quick solution :) I hope all vloggers and people making vids will start doing it as standard atleast for now :)

Some countrys,even rich ones like here ,Norway, has the same internet speed as a developing country if one chooses not to have a contract for the internet. Its not possible to watch vids but it is possible to download them slowly over time and watch easyily in one hit ☺
