A Weekend of fun family activities
We got up to quite a few things this weekend. We made it a family time, and did things together. On Friday night, we decidid to go out for dinner as a family. We haven't have many Friday night's free this year due to basketball, so it was so good to end the busy week with a family dinner.
We went to one of our favorite restaurants, and ordered our meals, and just sat and chatted and enjoyed each other's company. We took a few goofy photos (which I'm not allowed to show anyone, 'cos that's uncool..), and one picture of the wine we drank. Then we put our phones away and communicated like people did in the 80's. We spoke!! Woah!!
Why did I take a picture of the wine we drank? Because I'm a wine nerd! We don't often spoil ourselves, but this is the best wine I've ever had, and cheaper at the restuarant than in the bottle shops, so we got it. It's a 2006 Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz. Pure deliciousness!!
We sat and enjoyed the food and wine (and the kids' milkshakes), and then went home, full, and satisfied... too full for desert even. The kids wanted a McFlurry each on the way home though, so we drove through and joked around with the poor guy taking our order. We had the kids crying with laughter at the way I was ordering their "FlakMurrays". The cashier had no flakken clue what I was saying, but we got our Flakken Mcflurries in the end.
The next morning we were back on our schedule, but this time Mrs MJ and I joined in the rolling class the boys have been attending. This was our first exercise class in about 2 years, so it was always going to be tough. But it's rolling! How bad could it be!!
These are torture devices!!!!
We came out of the class feeling a bit like this...
We enjoyed the class, and surprised ourselves that we made it out alive, and could do most of what we were told to do. Coordination needs a bit of improvement, but we'll get there. We're both stiff and sore now, but will be better off in the long run if we keep at it. A bit of pain and preventative maintenance now will stop us seizing up as we get older, and it was fun spending the session throwing weights at to the kids.
Jr MJ had one of his semi-finals after the rolling session. The team lost by only 5 points, and were pretty upset. It could have gone either way, and the other team just did a few things better than us. That's the way it goes. Both teams are good mates with each other, and were united again yesterday for the second semi-final, in their Under 14 district team, this time coming off the court with a good, hard-fought win over much bigger and stronger opposition.
@nathanmj also played in his Under 18 district competition semi-final last night, and his team got the win, so we're back at the courts next week for 2 grand finals! It's going to be a nerve-wrecking day!!! I can't wait!
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
Yay for family weekends! Dinner out sounds nice :) We do try to have dinner together when we can too as we're all over the place all week. Good luck to the boys for finals!
