Hello. This is my first post. I intend to use this blog to report and document my "learn by doing" approach to the crypto-environments IOTA and Ethereum.

Basically, I think these technologies are cool and I'm trying to learn about them enough so I can build applications on them. So I shall use this blog to write in how tos and tutorials in case anyone else can use them, because to be honest I find the info out there for complete noobs like me to be rather spread out and difficult to collate and make sense of (plus, oodles and oodles of posts from the dinosaur age, aka 2 years ago, lolz).

Anyway, a brief precis. I started learning about Crypto currencies just 3 months ago, bought my first ETH in September, up now by over 50%. Just a week ago I heard about IOTA and transfered about 150 Miotas worth of ETH into binance.com .

I think IOTA needs more people developing for them so within a couple of days I ordered a Raspberry Pi3 B and a Raspberry Pi Zero W to hook them up together and get them talking to each other and somehow incorporate IOTA's MAM or similar. Note that I've never used a Raspberry Pi before so I'll be learning all the Raspberry stuff from complete zero scratch.

Just as a disclaimer, I am an EE by background and have been doing embedded software and product development for around 20 years in industry (challenge of the day: deduce my age!), so at least I can program a little. ;) . But the point is that other than the fundamentals, the Pi and Ethereum and Solidity or Javascript or even backend web development is completely new to me.

So by following the blog you can also sort of see how long it took me to learn everything. Note also that I am fulltime employed (as said, product development engineer) plus I have a family with small kids that sucks out all my free time. So it will take me the amount of time it takes someone who can only dedicate a few hours a week to this endeavour. If you can dedicate more time per day than I can you'll probably get up to speed much faster than me.

Anyway, that's the purpose. I didn't add pictures to the post because I have no clue how to use Steemit yet. I guess that gives you an idea of how much of a noobzer I am.
