"DIY Personalized 18th Birthday Invitation Card"

How's your day going on?
I have been busy for the past few days and neglected posting anything here. One of the things that I've been doing is helping my godchild for the preparation on her 18th Birthday this coming April 11.

Here in the Philippines the 18th Birthday is very significant in every girl's life which is officially the end of the teenage phase. The passage to adulthood that expected to be mature and responsible, for some a legal age of independence. But along with those things above, its a one in a life time event whether they are throwing a big glamorous party or a just a simple gathering of the closest family members and friends.

I would say that my godchild's birthday celebration is between the middle, and as one of my gifts for her is sharing my ideas about the preparations and making a personalized invitation card.

I do love making personalized cards, tags, invitation cards, stickers, etc... for personal use and for sharing as well like this, haha!

So, I will be showing you the steps that I did to create these simple yet beautiful butterfly inspired DIY personalized 18th bithday invitation cards.

First, I asked her to gave me some ideas on what she likes and what her invitation look like. She said something pink with butterfly.

So here are the things I prepared...

I made a lay-out and edited in Adobe Photoshop CS5, I download the image from Google which will serve as background.

I decided to make an 8 pages invitation with each size of 2.10 inches x 2.75 inches, where each page will be set for:
1.Front page
2.Cover Page
3.18 Roses List
4.18 Candles
5.18 Treasures
6.18 Gifts
7.18 Shots
8.Back page

After doing the design, I combined together the 4 pages like a collage to be printed in a parchment paper, in two sets to complete the 8 pages.

I took another printable butterfly jpeg image from Google, and print it in 8.50 inches x 11.00 inches scented hard stationary paper, 2 images per page so that it will be proportion to the size of the pages that I made above.

Of course, cutting the edges of the butterfly is necessary to achieve the design.

As well as the pages, it needs to be separated from the printed collage. Since I don't have a board cutter, I need to do it manually using cutter knife and ruler to make it align.

Here they are after cutting.

We are almost on half of the process, yehey! 🤗

The next step is gathering the 8 pages together, create a hole on the upper left corner using a single puncher.

Then, a thin sized ribbon string is needed, I have here the silver string.

All you need to do, is to get the desired length of the string to make a ribbon that will served as the binder of each pages.

That will simply look like this. ☝️

To make it not so tradditional, let us roll the pages all together. 😉
And...

Locked it by another ribbon that will look like this. ☝️

And for final touch, I glued the butterfly on top of the rolled pages using the hot glue to make it secure.

Oh wait a second! Don't forget to write the name/s of the invited person/s.

Ehem! Don't forget to bring your gifts guys!

So, how would like the invitation card that I made? Are you gonna attend the party if you received such an invitation? Haha!

Actually I need to make 100 invitations and I made 40 already, more to go. Lol!

But don't worry guys, I still have a lot of time to do it.
I'm pretty sure it be will done until next week before the target date of distribution.

I hope you like my creation and hope it helps also in giving some ideas for creating a birthday card invitation.
Its easy to make, the materials are cheap and accessible in the market.

And by the way, my godchild likes it so much. 😊🤗
