Hi-Oh!

Fellow Steemians in Steemit Nation!

Updating you from Jack Spirko's command center deep in the heart of Texas.

I've been learning a lot and meeting some really awesome peeps.

One of those peeps is Todd McCree.

Having a backyard nursery can be a great way to make some supplemental income for any homestead.

Seriously, have you been to a big nursery lately and seen their prices?

It's crazy talk.

Especially when you realize that there is such low overhead and such a low cost to entry into this industry that is always in hot demand.

I know that this is something that I would like to do on my homestead.

After meeting Todd, this side-hussle business model seems more in my reach than ever before.

Isn't it amazing how others success can actually breed success within yourself?

That's Inspiration!

I have started growing plants and trees for resale in one of the local nurseries this year. I can hardly keep up with the demand. This is just crazy...

What kind of income are are you gaining from this side Hussle And how many hours a week do you spend on it?

Planting the seeds in seedling poly bags and the larger species of trees and plants in burlap bags can take me a few days. Watering takes up to 3-4 hours a day in dry season. Rainy season is a blessing since I may only need to water once or twice in the season. Since this is our first year and we have sold two crops of papaya trees I have recouped most of the costs of watering and planting. Our year hasn't ended yet and I have cleared about $1500. I expect as I get better at planning and produce more plants my profits should go up. Not bad for an under 2 acre property.

Not bad indeed. I think back yard nurseries are a great niche market for homesteaders. Thanks for the info.
