Sometimes a little CODE change can make a BIG BIG Difference! A $266,666 Difference!

Upvote to get steemit developers to turn off Auto Correct & Auto Capitalize for tags!!! Takes 1 Line of Code!

So I'm sure any of you that use steemit on your mobile device (Which is probably a lot) run into that picture above often. Now it may seem pretty insignificant for me to bring this up, and it may be... But I thought why not save that few seconds its takes... To be honest sometimes its takes much much longer and can be very nerve-racking. Sometimes it just doesn't listen to you.

Since mobile devices, like the iPhone, love to force capitalization on you whenever they see fit and sometime don't care what you type in and try to erase... Also sometimes its hard to even tap back into that field (may all be iPhone problems).

But anyway all dumb ranting aside why not just add this little piece of code right before you grab the tags and submit them with the post.

$tags = strtolower($tags)

@heimindanger - For client side of things this would do the trick!
tags = tags.toLowerCase()

Also change that tags input box to:
input autocomplete="on" autocorrect="off" autocapitalize="off" spellcheck="false"
To eliminate the damn auto correct & if your device excepts it no autocapitalize!!
Thanks @clevecross for jogging my memory!

If you add the amount of time it takes to uncapitalize the first letter in a text box on a mobile phone even if lets say
(2 Seconds) * Number of Mobile Users (100k?) * Posts Per Year (1000) = 200M Seconds!
OR DRUM ROLL PLEASE... 6.341 YEARS of Wasted Time!
This TIME could be used to up vote or comment. Let's say the average earned on these is roughly $0.02 per average of 15 Seconds...
(200M / 15 ) * .02 = $266,666 LOST!

So @dan or whomever can implement this small change - Lets save the steemit community those precious seconds and one hell of a lot of cash!

UPVOTE and lets get this implemented!!

That's all :)

I don't think they would use php code in the client side. However

tags = tags.toLowerCase()

would work 100%

True. Good call, will include in post.

it happens constantly, @blueorgy

Beautiful. I've been battling autocorrect for awhile and nice to see a solution that really does seem simple

Using a mobile device is very important for Steemit. Of course it is different from Twitter, but the mobile device is always in our hands.
Thanks for this post.

I have had this very frustration while typing on iPad

I agree, that has annoyed me too, but right now devs are too busy working on security enhancements.

I understand that, but this change would take a matter of seconds. :)
especially throwing
autocomplete="on" autocorrect="off" autocapitalize="off" spellcheck="false"
inside the tags input box.

Ha! Yes I was very tired!

Agreed. Also, people need to comment more. Much more. It's the best thing you can do to grow a community.

Absolutely. I have put out posts. Everytime I get votes but no comments.... I can't help but feel it's just an upvote to chase part of a reward. I admit, I hope to find some success as I learn to contribute to the community.... But if you like what I've said, a comment encouraging me to continue, a criticism of my content or how it was laid out.... All of that I want to know

Had that thought as well.

That eureka moment when you realise a post blew your mind @blueorgy

Thank you for your contribution
