On A Bench In The Park

I sat on a bench in a park and looked around. I looked through the lens of the camera!

The park, the place where a great diversity of people gathers, is the ideal place to observe and catch different actions and activities, games. Especially due to the fact that two categories are always present ... children and pets.

An interesting mix of children, parents, grandparents. Some to play, others in passing, others to relax in the pleasant shade of the trees. All surrounded by the dominant color of the moment, green.

I like to watch people! I like to photograph people on the street or in the park, especially when they don't notice me doing it.
Because of this, most of the photos show them seen from behind.

Usually no one likes to be photographed by a stranger. Especially when it comes to children. Parents and grandparents who accompany their children to play in the park are very careful when supervising them and of course they are right. They have all seen on TV all kinds of news about child abuse and are suspicious when they see someone taking pictures. That's why I try to be as discreet as possible and that causes the quality of the photos.

Easier to photograph are those who do sports, those who ride a bike. Fast movement prevents them from noticing the camera.

A group of women cleaning the park. They are so busy talking that they don't see anything around. Easy to photograph.

Also, the elderly as well as the mothers with small children are less attentive to the possible photographers, they are more attentive to the place where they go or to their children.

It would be best and fairest to ask permission to take pictures. But that kills the spontaneity and naturalness of photography. Any person who is warned is photographed tends sometimes without realizing it, to pose.

I spent almost an hour in the park. I used a Canon EOS 1300D camera.
