The Blocktrades Contest | Finish the Fiction Story Contest - Week #36 - @bananafish

I think I am a role model steemian because as a newbie to Steem, I am doing everything in my power to engage the community and learn all the correct ways to do things here. I originally joined Steem in May 2018, but I didn't really understand the platform. I posted a few articles and got zero response, so I didn't see the point and didn't do much else. Recently, in October I came back for another look. This time I did research and reading to learn what the platform was about. And I'm still learning, there is SO MUCH that Steem has to offer. I first bought Steem as an investment back in April 2018 because I thought it sounded like a valid project. I paid $3.18 at that time and I only purchased 150 STEEM. Now that the price is so low, you could say I'm in a definite loss situation. But I'm finding value in the platform itself, not the $$$. I power up everything I receive, so I'm not trying to make money from trading STEEM, I'm just trying to build up my influence. To find friends and engage new people, I've entered several writing contests and became involved in the @bananafish community, the @freewritehouse community, Speculative Fiction Writers of Steemit, BuildTeam Public, and some others, also joining the Discords. In applications, I tried many of them and use them on a varied basis, giving them all some support. I post @actifit daily and trade comments with several members there. I use Busy, eSteem, SteemPeak, dLike, Steemhunt, Partiko, and am trying to get involved with SteemMonsters, but I don't quite understand it yet. In other words, I try to sample everthing I find that interests me. I comment, upvote, and resteem to the extent of my power available. I'm just a little plankton right now, but hope to someday grow up and be in a position to pass on the help and friendship I've received so far.
