Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was an Italian astronomer, mathematician, physicist, professor, author, inventor of the laws of motion which was then formulated by Newton, the father of the experimental method, the inventor of the law of falling objects, the inventor of pendulum law, the inventor of the thermometer and telescope, inventor of mathematical theory of parabolic motion.

He was the first person in the world to apply mathematics to analyze mechanics. It links physics and astronomy with mathematics and not with traditional philosophy. He opposed the opinions of Aristotle and Ptolemy. Actually the first person in the world to find a telescope or binoculars was Hans Lippershey, the Dutch optician, in 1608. But Lippershey refused to accept his patent. 



When hearing that Galileo then made his own telescope. At first the telescope was only able to raise the object 9 times and finally managed to make a telescope that can raise objects 33 times. With this simple telescope Galileo became famous for discovering the rings of Saturn, the four moons of Jupiter, the mountains and the craters on the moon. 


He also discovered beneath the galaxy is actually a multi-million-dollar cluster


Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy, on February 15, 1564 and died in Arcetri on 8 January 1642 at the age of 78 because of a fever. He was born three days before Michelangelo died and died one year before Newton was born. Galileo's father was Vicenzo Galilei, music and mathematician.
