📢 Blckchnd 2018 Q3 Witness report

in #witness5 years ago

Again, it’s time for our quarterly report. It doesn’t have a fixed date, the idea is to post it approximately every three months, four times a year, but after releasing something new and cool.

This time such a news item is the release of our public trading bot, and its integration into Bitshares RuDEX UI. As you learned to expect from us, we’re all about building and providing tools that make your experience better.

Here is the overview of what we did since the last update:

We’ve launched the gateways for three more Graphene chains, for Whaleshares, Smoke, and VIZ. We’ve also delisted Travelchain token, and are finalizing the rules for listing and delisting assets on RuDEX, which is something that we’re being asked about a lot.

As a result of this quarter, we have gateways for 10 Graphene-based chains: Steem, Golos, Peerplays, SOUNDAC (ex Muse), Karma, Decent, Scorum, Whaleshares, Smoke, VIZ.

And some non-graphene chains, such as EOS, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Peercoin & Digibyte.

Technical work

As you well know, we support a server park that consists of our witness and witness backup, seed node (node.blckchnd.com:4243) and 3 API nodes (wss://node.market.rudex.org Falkenstein, Germany; wss://api.bts.blckchnd.com Falkenstein, Germany; wss://api-ru.bts.blckchnd.com Moscow, Russia)..

You can see the list and specs of our servers by looking in our witness thread on bitsharestalk

Additionally, we’re active in Bitshares github, including pull requests and bug reports. You can track our activity here.

Awareness and outreach activities

The biggest offline event of this period was, without doubt, the Bitfest Amsterdam 2018, which was organized by Bitshares Blockchain Foundation.

As is usual for conferences that we attend, we did a talk about our experience with working with Bitshares, what we began with, where are we going, and a big part of our talk was the live presentation of the first worker proposal that was created by our friends at GrapheneLab together with Rossul.

This worker proposal is currently active, and work is underway to do an UX analysis and interface design for Bitshares DEX.

Other the conference day, big notables were meeting Stan in person,

visiting the largest exchange of the European continent the AEX, and getting acquainted with a multitude of projects that are working in the Bitshares ecosystem.

Since I (@xanoxt) was a bit under the weather, I’ve missed the pancakes and networking day, which is a pity, but it also means that I’ll just have to visit the next conference.

On top of such cool offline things we’re also moderating Russian language developer chats.

We’re also actively moderating Russian language threads on bitcointalk, which is now more than 17 pages in length (19k views).

Besides that, we’re helping several teams that are working on creating their own interfaces and/or businesses based on Bitshares DEX.
It seems that our bad influence is contagious. :)

As we mentioned in the beginning these reports are released approximately once a quarter. That means that our next report is going to be at the beginning of spring.

Thank you for your time, now we can get back to work since our motto is less talk, more action.
