Melting Me Softly is a 2019 South Korean romantic comedy Tv series with a number 16 episodes. Directed by Shin Woo-cheol, the series starred Ji Chang-wook, Won Jin-ah, Yoo se-ah, Chae seo-jin, Kang ki-doong and many others.

Synopsis
Ma Dong-chan and Ko mi-ran are both frozen as part of an experiment that should last for 24hours, only to wake up 20 years later with side effects.

The story follows the lives of Ma Dong-chan and Ko mi-ran who willingly take part in an experiment that could be of assistance to people if successful. Ma Dong-chan is a director in the news variety department known for his achievements of doing the impossible. Going into project which no one can do bought him his spotlight, a perfect son and fiance. His quest to do more of the impossible however brought him in contact with Professor Hwang, who was in search of subjects that would participate in his cryonic experiment hence the subject would be frozen for 24hours.

The subject needed was a male and a female, which is where Ko mi-ran comes in. Ko mi-ran is a very vibrant young lady whose only goal is to make money to take care of her family and find a cure for her retarded little brother. After much persuasion, with the asssurance that the experiment was going to help her brother, she also agrees to participate. As the experiment started and they got frozen, the doctor in charge due to some secret conspiracies went missing. This was the only person that could bring them back.

The series follows through the journey of the lives of both leads, waking up to a new world.....like 20years of their lives just gone, in a blink of an eye. How are they supposed to take it? Where are they supposed to start from? What exactly went wrong?, all these questions are what the series tried to answer. Different puzzles to piece together to make sense of the situation, secrets you never thought was there are been exposed. Both leads find comfort in each other, falling in love and also struggling with the side effects of being frozen.

Kdramas actors are always known for their amazing performances that keeps you wanting for more. Credit to Ji Chang-wook for his performance in this series, which happened to be his first drama after returning from 2 years of military service. He was still able to give us a good act. Although, if I was to rate his act to before he went for military service I think this was his least performance. But considering the break from acting, he did okay. Won Jin-ah performance was great too, her expressions was cute to see. Other characters also made good use of their screen time, even though it was a bit boring at a point, they were still able to pull through to the end. One character I love is that of little Oh Ah-rin, oh my, she is so adorable and good in portraying her non-chalant attitude, she hardly even laughed too as she was more of an adult in her little body.

Melting me softly is a nice kdrama series to see, a bit different from the normal because of the story line but pretty much the same towards the end. Very entertaining and one you can see with family and friends, the presence of some funny characters would make it worthwhile.
