Hi friends from steemit, today I'll be discussing about the word "online".
Online, to the best of my knowledge has become a big part of our daily life's. it is being connected to the internet. and we use it in a lot of different ways.
Like an online dating, or an online banking, and also an online shopping. now it is something happening in the internet, in another words.. ONLINE..

Online is not a shorthand word for any internet related activities alone, it carries involvements with cultural luggage and connotations.

One importance of online is that anyone can get access to vital information as the internet is endowed with fantastic informations which could add meaning to learning and research. With one search on Google you will have everything you need at your fingertips.
This was not so as people had to use libraries, fax and telephone to get information that they wanted.
News were reported a day late but now you have it as it happens provided you are online.
Also online is a global connectivity. You know, it connects us with people all around the world and also helps us learn others people culture, ideas and way of life.
You do not have to go to a particular place to learn about them and their culture, you could also attend a university and gain a degree online at your own convenience.

During the COVID 19 pandemic people could only connect and interact through online platforms.

And again, it is convenience to use as long has you have a good source of network and data. Communication is fast and easy, you could sit at the comfort of your home and reach across others outside your state and even county without having to think about the physical boundaries and all that.

The disadvantage of online are;

Online-menia, this is when anyone is being obsessed with being online so much that it affects his or her physical interactions with others and basic doings, like social media and all that. Most people who spend their whole time being online may find it hard to interact with people and their environment in real life. This is why the phrase "touch grass" was invented which means that one should go outside and connect with nature rather than stay online too long.

Cyber bullying, you and I know what that means, as some persons could be cruel in he way they speak and this could result to real life issues.
Also something called Digital distractions, because with all of this information we could get access to information without no much stress.
We could miss out important personal body cues, like sound of voice, facial expressions etc.

Online could make life seems easier, as we tend to put all our efforts on it, working and interacting, schools and all that. At times it comes in-between family interactions at home where everyone is focused on their individual phones and neglecting the basic and necessary family bounding time.

Online brings both positive and negative development to us users, but we must be mindful of how we deal with all kinds of online development. internet has a way of influencing us, it is our duty to control it instead of it to control us.! Online..
