As parents, we know how important the welfare of our children is to us. We do everything in our power so that our children are well, so that they are comfortable, calm, cheerful. They are our engine by which we move. We fight to give them a good education so that when they grow up they have a good profession. In short, we think about giving them the best.

... But are we sure to really give them the best?

Many times our focus is on material things or the social environment. But we do not attach much importance to the spiritual part. When this is the part to which we must devote more time and more interest, since the spiritual formation that we give to our children, depends on their development in life.

If we apply the word of God in our lives, we should know that the Bible exhorts us to teach our children the things of God. From the old testament, God wants us to teach our children their ways.

Deuteronomy 6: 6-9 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

6 And these words that I command you today will be on your heart;
7 And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
8 And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes;
9 And you shall write them on the posts of your house, and on your gates.

God wants our children to know their word as a child. A profession is important, but more important is to instruct our children in the ways of God.

Proverbs 22: 6 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

6 Instruct the child in his way,
And even when he is old he will not turn away from him.

If we teach they the ways of God from a young age, our children will always keep in mind what God wants in their lives, they will have respect for the things of God, reverence and fear for God. They will be people of advantage and better defined people than those who grow up without an orientation to the things of God. They will appreciate and practice values ​​and apply them in all areas of their lives.

A child under Christian formation is less likely to be an alcoholic, promiscuous, liar, irresponsible, will be more focused when making decisions, and will put everything in the hands of God. Will be a responsible person and therefore, will be ordered in their studies and everything that is proposed.

14 But Jesus said: Let the children come to me, and do not forbid them; because of such is the kingdom of heaven.

We see the importance that God gives to children, which in many verses is reflected, therefore, we as parents, we must give greater importance to the spiritual life of our children from small and not leave it for when they are teenagers because in this would be harder for them to appreciate what God has for their lives.
