Rekindle the Gift that God has given us.

in #steempress6 years ago (edited)

Greetings friends and brothers.

On the occasion of the theme of the gifts mentioned by our steemit church, Steemchurch, today I want to tell you about reviving the gifts that God has placed in us.

Source

1 Timothy 4:14

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, that was given to you by prophecy with the imposition of the hands of the presbytery.

Evidently, Timothy, who was a pastor, did not use the gift he had received.

2 Timothy 1: 6

For which I advise you to stir up the fire of the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of my hands.

In the context it refers to the revival of a fire that burns within us and that we must reactivate when it tends to disappear and die.

In the course of life we can experience difficult times that can put out the fire within us and make us feel spiritually sleepy, but we must not allow difficulties to bring us down, because those are the moments in which we must react and kindle the fire of God in our heart.

To exercise for the benefit of others, the gift of God that is in us, we need to be passionate. The Lord has given us all the resources we need to bless the body of Christ, but our lack of obedience and consecration prevents others from being blessed.

Paul had received the revelation of the gift that God had given Timothy and in this epistle he exhorted him not to neglect it and to use faith to manifest it. As a spiritual father, Paul wants the best for him, encourages him not to be ashamed of the Gospel and to be a witness of Christ. In other words, it encourages him to make the anointing that is in him become dynamic.

2 Timothy 1: 8

Therefore, do not be ashamed to give testimony of our Lord, nor of me, your prisoner, but participate in the afflictions for the gospel according to the power of God,

There are several ways to revive the gifts that can help us improve.

Realizing that we are channels through which the power of God flows and making ourselves available to support the initiative of the Holy Spirit. God uses those who are available and, sometimes, if the holiest is not, He also uses those who are less holy.

In the Gospels we read of a Levite and a priest were not willing to rescue the man who needed help, and God used a Samaritan, who was less holy than them, but he was available and merciful (Luke 10:33).

Sharing the sufferings of the gospel. When one enters the dimension of the spirit, one is not understood and suffers. He can make mistakes when he meets the needs of people, but those who act can make mistakes, with the result that he learns and improves in the wrong way. The growth process also happens through our mistakes!

Remain faithful to the healthy teaching we receive.

2 Tim 1:13

Keep the form of the healthy words that you heard from me, in the faith and love that is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:15

Strive diligently to present yourself to God approved, as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, who uses the word of truth well.

Those who have received the anointing of the Spirit must be subordinated to the ministries. In the Old Testament, the most important ministry was the prophetic ministry, in the New Testament the apostolic ministry is the most important.

Suffice it to say that the books of the Old Testament were written by the prophets, while those of the New Testament were written by the apostles. Those who are not subject to an apostolic ministry can not discern God's original intentions. The apostles give stability to the churches and those who have them are blessed. Keeping the good deposit of revelation as a treasure.

2 Timothy 1:14

Save the good deposit by the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.

The good deposit that Paul speaks of in this verse refers to the revelations that he had poured out in Timothy and that these should be kept or taken care of, because the revelations do not change with the changing times.

Why does God give gifts?

Source

To encourage, build, exhort. He gives us the equipment, but we must bring the anointing from static to dynamic.

How?

Exercising the gift, knowing that we are born again to win and that the defeats that we can experience are only incidents, of course.

When God anoints us, he teaches us victory. It teaches us to stretch the copper bow, because it throws the arrows far away and, while the others are frightened, we revive.

Psalm 18:34

Who trains my hands for the battle, To bent with my arms the bronze arch.

Do not let the dondes go out on us and keep the flame burning.
