올해(25년) 10월 21일,
중국 인민은행에 의하면 작년(24년) 각 은행에서 처리한 전자결제 거래 건수는 3016억 6800만 건으로 5년 전보다 35% 증가했다고 발표했습니다.
- 중국의 전자결제 거래 건수가 왜 이렇게 많을까요?!
그 이유는...
- 신용 카드 보급률도 낮은데...
중국 내에 위조지폐가 많아서 현금 거래에 대한 불신이 커지고 있을 때...
알리바바(알리페이)와 텐센트(위챗페이)가 그 시장을 파고들었다고 합니다.
그리고
2004년부터 QR 코드와 연동된 은행 계좌만 있으면 누구나 손쉽게 사용할 수 있는 간편 결제 시스템을 내놓으면서 신용카드 사용을 건너뛰고 디지털 화폐 시장으로 넘어간 것입니다.
또한,
중국 정부는 디지털 화폐 시스템으로 모든 결제 기록을 디지털로 확인이 가능하고,
사람들의 소비 패턴과 이동 경로까지 실시간으로 파악할 수 있다고 합니다.

디지털 화폐 시스템은 조금씩 시간이 지나다 보면...
어느 나라든 자연스럽게 사용하고 있을 테고...
