Facebook - Where Did All My Friends Go?
As I scrolled down my Facebook newsfeed tonight, I couldn't help but notice something missing....My friends! Where had they gone? I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled.....and scrolled some more.....and some 60 posts later I found the first one from a friend. Seriously! Now I know that Facebook is serving me pages that I've liked and groups that I regularly post in, but what about friends?
MY STATS
FRIENDS - 446
PAGES LIKED 800
Groups - 80
So, according to my calculations my posts should be roughly in a ratio of 5 friend posts for every 10 page posts for every 1 group post, although I know thats not wholey accurate. So, lets have a look at what I roughly got.
MY FEED
40 Page Posts
15 Group Posts
2 Sponsored Posts (Whatever this is)
2 Suggested Pages
2 Suggested Posts
1 Friend post
I screen-grabbed my experience for at least 30 frames before I gave up...sorry the order got jumbled. Scroll down to relive my Facebook experience.
Facebook is clearly getting greedy and serving themselves rather than us. This can only be good for steemit as more users become disenfranchised with being a marketing pawn for the Facebook empire. After you read this, grab your phone and scroll down...How many posts before you see one from a friend? I'd love to hear if this experience is unique to me...
Peace

I think fb works by showing you more of what you click on. If you are opening a lot of pages you get more of that. If you click on friends posts more, then you see more of that. I go through stages where the pages I like are covering a lot of interesting things, and then I hardly see my friends posts.
I do understand this, but I never thought it would be to this extent.
It seems a more recent development. I suppoae they will do everything to maximize advertising.
They're successfully hammering the last few nails into their own coffin.
