BitGo starts supporting token standard ERC-20.
The leading bitcoin security company and provider of the popular BitGo wallet has announced the start of support for ERC-20 tokens created on the Ethereum blockchain.
As noted in the company's blog, at the moment there are more than 20 thousand tokens based on Ethereum, and the ICO market in 2017 alone amounted to $6.8 billion in the form of attracted investors ' funds. As BitGo expects, the positive trend will continue in the future, and in 2018 the growth of new digital assets will continue.
In this regard, the company believes that in order to meet the increased needs of customers, it is necessary to start supporting ERC-20 tokens.
At this stage, 13 new tokens have been added, which are available for corporate clients:
Basic Attention Token (BAT); Bread (BRD); Civic (CVC) EOS (EOS); Funfair (FUN)Golem (GNT); Kyber Network (KNC); Numeraire (NMR); OmiseGo (OMG); TenX (PAY); Quantum Resistant Ledger (QR);Augur (REP) and 0x (ZRX).
As stated in BitGo, new assets will be added on a regular basis in the future.
So far, the company has supported such cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Ripple (XRP).
Recall, at the end of March, support for the ERC-20 standard was announced by the leading cryptocurrency company Coinbase.
