Tweaking laptop for more battery

After finally reinstalling and fixing the laptop by replacing my faulty Ram chips. I started to find ways to tweak the laptop to increase battery life.

Here are my results with just a few simple tweaks. A whooping 8 hours of battery life which should be more then sufficient for my daily use away from any power plug.

One of the first this is to ensure you enable battery savings which you can just click on the battery icons in Windows 10 at the bottom right side of the screen.

This would effectively turn off a lot of your background processes such as syncing your Google drive or One Drive. That itself would help you save a lot of battery and give you more uptime.

Another tweak was to lower down your screen mhz. If you goto your advance display settings you would see the option to change this.

Since I do not play games as much so running it at 60Mhz is more then sufficient for me, unless those times when I want super crisp display then I'll change it back up to 144mhz. That change alone gave me about an additional 1 hour extra battery life.

Other stuff you could do is stop using Google Chrome while on battery. However if you really want to use it then you could turn off this settings under Google Chrome - Settings - System. Turn off the Use Hardware Acceleration When Available.

However I do suggesting using Brave Browser as I realized it does not seem to drain the batteries just as fast. I could be wrong but do give it a try and let me know what you think.

Now if you are using an older laptop that does not have a SSD hard disk.. Do buy a new SSD (solid state disk) hard disk replacement. Not only it would make your laptop run way much quicker, it would also make your battery last longer as with SSD drive it does not have any moving mechanism.

Those are just a few stuff you could do to improve your battery time for your laptop.

Alternatively if you have the cash.. Just get a new laptop 😂😂😜😜
