Porn shown during Google Class ??

Well .. since almost all of us are practicing social distancing and Malaysia has issued out a Movement Control Order since 18th of March, all schools and malls and most businesses literally are closed.

As a parent, we are more worried about progress of our kids's studies. The good thing is that we have the tech now to be able to enable the kids to start going online to learn.

In Malaysia, the availability of Google Classrooms is being used and for those who are in the urban areas, its easy enough to get online to do.

The only issue here is that some teachers & students are in the rural areas and connectivity is the challenge. And to some, families who lives in poverty are unable to afford computers where it makes it not accessible for these online studies.

These kids who are unable to get online, would be left out.

Apart from that .. here is another problem which has risen. Hackers / Unwanted guests who invites themselves into Google Classroom and start posting porn. When I first read about it, I thought it would not happen here in Malaysia but ... guess what ... it happened just now at one of the Google Classrom classes which was conducted by one of the Form 2 teachers

Be it the fault of the teacher for not filtering thru who has been invited to the class or someone inviting someone else ... it surely is a going problem which needs to be address.

Also teachers needs to be well informed on how to tackle these kind of problems as teachers here in Malaysia are not all tech savy and doing these online learning is truly something new.

For now ... we just need to be diligent and be able to see what the kids are viewing. Can you imagine if someone posted something which would scare our young ones for life ??
