SBD price depressed on Bittrex

Please note that the price of SBD is about 20% lower on Bittrex right now compared to Poloniex. I would say this is due to the fact that you can't transfer SBD to Poloniex right now so everyone is selling their SBD from Steemit through Bittrex.

It might be an idea to power up with your Steem Dollars rather than taking a much lower price on Bittrex. Although, the price is still higher than $ so 50/50 is a better payout option.

The volume on Poloniex is far higher so I would say that price will revert closer to the Poloniex price once the deposit facility is enabled again.

Crucial information, thanks a lot!

I'd still sell it because steem is very cheap to buy right now..., you are getting almost 1 steem for 1 sbd

Or just buy while prices are down and wait for them to regain their position. Knowing how these markets fluctuate, seems pretty inevitable.

No, i mean, sbd is valued closer to Steem than ever.. But too bad it sells that high only on poloniex and poloniex disabled deposits temporarily

Yeah, it's still worth it (if you had funds on Poloniex already that is), but the prices are also lower, so it's a great time to be buying in general. I'm always looking to buy things when the price drops!

thanks for the lookout @bitgeek and @codypanama that was insightful...thumbs up you two.

Good information. thanks for sharing

i used the internal market yesterday for 1.48sbd per steem

The power up still confuses me, after 3.5 days it gets changed but at what price ?
the moment you click or 3.5 days later, and who sets the price you get.
Thanks in advance :-)
I would be selling SBD at polo and re buying at Bittrex all day long if I could LOL

Disclaimer, I could be wrong here, but...

I am pretty sure from what I remember from the whitepages that you get the price at the time of the transaction, not the price when you initiate the transaction. This would hold consistent with other trading platforms I've used that are not instant transactions as well.

I've just been using the in-house market, works ok and is almost instant if your price is not too far from bid/offers on the table.

Yeah I get that (Steemit whitepages aren't very useful for any other markets), but I think they use the price at the time of the transaction, not initiation of transaction, to protect against certain types of market manipulation. I would look it up more specifically if I weren't at work but the explanation is there in the whitepages.

Very good point

do you know how long the polo steem wallets have been offline? i wasn't paying attention to them before and that would be useful knowledge.. has it been just days or much longer than that?
