Race to the first "Crypto-Country"
According to recent news, the small european country of Estonia aims to become the first Crypto-country in the world. Government services are already using the blockchain technology, the tech behing coins like Bitcoin.
Estonian's digitalization project gained a whole new level with the e-residency program which started 2014. Under this initiative anybody can apply online to become virtual Estonian citizen which gives access to the same online platforms that Estonia's economy is based on physically as well as the same public services that domestics use.
The adoption of the blockchain technology led also to an online voting system during the national elections.
Estonia also runs public services like health services that are powered by it.
Other Blockchain developments worldwide
Other EU countries like Slovenia are vying for the adoption of this technology in public services.
In the UK, the payment of health benefits claimants are currently piloted by the government on the same blockchain-based system.
I personally hope, that many more countries will try to implement this new tech into public services, so that the use and value of it will rise even more.

Interesting news. I met someone here from Estonia recently, I wonder if they know? As long as it's secure then great. At some point this will just suddenly become fashionable, especially when it's known that blockchain is safe and any meddling can be seen!
