Steem Monsters! Dailies and Test Server!

The next few days are going to be Steem Monster Fallout 76 no day work all play turkey day madness with the chance of pictures and agates because I have the next four days off and to be honest I plan on getting as little sleep as possible and as much gaming as possible before I go back the regularly programmed work schedule.

Starting with an SM stream followed by a Fallout 76 stream if I have time. While I've been waiting for Season 3 to begin I've still been doing the daily quests and we're gonna check out some test server action so join me on some steem monsters fun!

Mavericks do get a perk!

When I got maverick status I wondered if we got anything other than channel access to the mavericks house in Discord, and I was happy to see that we get access to the test server! That means I get to check out the changes before they're released! Now I am not sure when, but Season 3 is sure to start real soon!

It's definitely going to be a lot more challenging to pick your team after you've been matched, plus different parameters every battle! This means that the mindless back-to-back battles will be no more and will require more attention/engagement. This is definitely a move in the right direction even though it makes it harder for me to sneak battles at work!

Update Regarding Test Servers

After streaming test servers for over an hour I've grown to like the game a whole lot more. It's become less boring, so to speak as I am required to think and interact every single round. With the current old system you click battle, consider the rules and mana requirements, pick your team and basically set it and forget it. It's a rinse and repeat for the next two days until the next ruleset comes out. I can't deny that this did get boring after a while and just found myself clicking the "battle" link at the top menu bar just to skip the fight altogether and queue up for another one.

The test servers with the new system bring a whole new mechanism to the game that requires a lot more strategy. As soon as you pick a ranked battle, you immediately get the pop up as shown above where you get to see the rules of the current battle and who you're fighting. Every single battle you have to consider new rules of combat, a different mana cap and the possibility that your favorite splinter will not even be playable. This brings a whole new level of competition to the game that I am happy to see. It makes every single battle that you have fully unique as where not one team can be the same. At best similar if the splinter you're focusing on is allowed, but not quite the same. This also makes fights so unique that you might not even want to pick the same or similar teams because you have to consider tactic and what the other player might do.

Just as an example, I fought @floridasnail on the test server during a "Back to Basics" rule of combat where all monsters have no abilities. I didn't focus on tactic here and his tank was a peaceful giant. While My ranged and my tank focused on his peaceful giant, his ranged took out my tank and it was over before I knew it!

I thought it was great and it made me laugh but I also realized how he was strategically thinking about what he had to work with.

Eventually we ended up battling with the same ruleset again so I went for the same tactic. He won again, but it was funny to show see two peaceful giants tanking! The fight was more fair, too but he still ended up winning as he 1 upped me with a tactic I hadn't considered - back-up tanks since the mana permitted more cards than the first time we battled. Well played @floridasnail! Having the maxed out cards to play with on the test server really gave me an inside look at how competitive this game can be with maxed cards!

When I joined Steemit I made the decision to always Power-Up my earnings. For now, payouts are set to 50/50 but you bet I will convert & Power Up! Besides internal transfers, I have never cashed out and don't plan on it! Power-Up only!
