Having Doubts
After trying out Steemit for little over a week now and have been posting as much as I can with the limits that are in place.
A couple of days ago a new feature was release to promote your post to help users content get seen. I have tried it and seen a small return. I felt that I put a lot of thought in my recent post and didn't make squat. Maybe I am doing things wrong or not posting good content. After seeing so many other's results and I have to admit, some posts are getting thousands of dollars for posting a picture they took out walking around.
It seems you need to have some money invested to see some big results. I don't seem to be getting any attention from "whales" or from much users for that matter.
I believe it can work but the're are a lot of unfair advantage and I feel like my hard work is going to go unnoticed...

Make Sure To Use Your Votes Daily
I believe 20+ upvotes a day

Are Not Posting, Commenting, And Upvoting That Much
I Think After This Weekend
It'll Pick Up, I Hope
Check Out Minnowsunite
and Steem-Help
I am doing all of that. If you look at my acticity I'm posting no more than 4 a day, at least 20 votes a day, curating and trying to be apart of the community. Thanks for the feedback @anns! :)
As a maturing minnow who signed up less than a month ago, I'm on my way to becoming a dolphin. The best advice I can give other plankton and minnows is to ask what you can do for others.
When you ask what you can do for others, try to focus on people who have a lot of power. For example, Ned (Steemit CEO) wanted a Steemit FAQ page written, so I volunteered to produce it for him, and I'm going to do a damn good job. Then, when he needs something at a later time, he'll think of me. When he sees my posts, he'll probably be more likely to read and upvote them. Ned now knows who I am and is on my side.
Another time, a Steemian was compiling a wiki-type page and asking for help. This time, it was a baby whale, but someone with a ton of Steem Power nonetheless. I said I'd help her out and have been messaging her. Now she's on my side.
Another time, I wrote a thoughtful comment on a thread about improving Steemit, linking a post I had written on the topic. A whale responded in agreement with me, telling me he has been saying that same thing for a long time. I had written an excellent article on the subject that made like $0.20 because it got no traction. (Granted, it has received a couple of dollars now, but that was after the first payout.) I told this whale he could go ahead and repost my article if he wants because it's more likely to gain traction being posted by someone of his stature. No strings attached. He didn't repost it, but he did start following me.
TL;DR I'm still a minnow, but in less than a month, I have five different whales following me (two of whom are amongst the largest of whales), all because I came to give, not take.
Very good point. It was just a little frustrating that's all. It doesn't help with a GF telling me I'm wasting your time. Thanks @shenanigator! I gotta find me some whales lol.
oh yes, steemit is very frustrating. I just joined last week. Although I don't expect much of a feedback or upvotes in the beginning, it is actually frustrating to see that my upvote doesn't do much for the content and posts I read and liked. It's like those sad birds, who bump into glass windows at full speed and die. Ok, not that sad. More like voting for the only opposition of Putin we have in Russia, the communist party, knowing that they aren't going to win, and we are going to have Putin again anyway. Some of my friends stoped voting because they don't see any point in it.
There's a lot more to your voting power. If you vote more than I believe 27 times in 24hrs, Then your voting amount drops. Also having more steem power increases your voting amount.
As for you homeland, I think every country has its issues with their government and leaders. In some ways I kind of feel the same about the voting thing. Does it really make a difference now? Apparently your government may be tampering with the U.S. Election.
Ah, I haven't realized we have a limit on voting every day. Thanks for the heads up.
Well, USA government has tempered with so many other countries in the past, it's not surpising if it happens to them themselves from now on. The 'rip what you sow' law applies I guess?
Hey man. I know.... It's a learning curve right now and you are feeling the same issues that people are seeing and talking about.
It is unfortunate that you are experiencing the same thing as many others are... I believe from the posts lately that it is at least being addressed as a problem, and hopefully that precedes a solution.
I just need to hang in there and learn the ropes. Thanks @clevecross!
Welcome to the club
thanks @jonno-katz
People like to feel they know you a little bit, like an associate or friend. They want a few details and a picture. They want someone to be honest with them, to open up a little. Like a friend would. My advice,,,,use the introduceyourself tag and open up. Do a picture with a steemit sign with time and date......people need that visual and then they feel like they can connect. Give some details of your life. Trust us, we won't judge. Everyone else is iffy about that kind of thing also. Go for it. What have you got to lose? :)
Maybe I should. I have my concerns with sharing more about me. I just want to be one that contributes good content and hopefully have it help others. Thanks @celsius100
A doubt - is a mighty power. Go on doing in order to check everything yourself, Bitcoinparadise. I am not teaching, I am at the same position as you.
Very true @borishaifa. Thank you for commenting and the help :)
