Are We Losing Steem?

Is The Momentum Going On A Downward Trend?

If you take a look at the charts from Steemle.com, You can see the posts and replies have declined.

Are we seeing a trend of steemit on the decline? Personally I feel that there is less activity and a lot of people i have followed before has only tried it for a couple weeks and stopped. Maybe it's just me or the people I follow but regardless, I feel that it apart of building a new platform online and the fact we are still in beta and still growing the amount of users here is reassuring that it is just a matter of time.

As far as I can see, there is nothing to worry about and as long as we continue to produce content, it will grow into a huge social media platform.

Some people created more than one account early on I would guess. Over time some people will move on and some will find Authoring posts is not their gig ; these people will slowly power down and cash out their Steem , why would they not . . .

For a new website in such a heavily saturated field of name brands Steemit will need a long range game plan. I cannot imagine anyone logically and rationally arguing that Facebook, Twitter and Pintrest can be drastically reduce in the short term.

I think Steemit must fall as people leave and new people enter and then even desire to spend ' real ' money to buy up stock in Steem. I have no experience nor clue about cryptocurrencies but I do not expect any clear picture of Steemit can reliably emerge in under three years ; but what would I know.

My own crystal ball of projections says Steemit will bleed off another 50 % of its current daily value and then stead off and stagnate until people finally finish their selling and buying, then the stead climb upwards . . .

But what would a tiny minnow like me know : )

Good point. I think we are in a stage where competing social sites will grow as everyone dips into new things. As far as the market and powering down, I'm sure the developers expected this and is a part to redistribute the steem power in the community. I mean I'm like you, what do I know right?

Well at least you chose a kool handle = name : )

Someone was saying that the reason for the decline, is spam content is being reduced. The system is starting to get less content but more quality content. As long as users are still using Steem it will have some sort of value.

That could be another reason and a good one too.

It is normal that activity will rise and fall. It is still very early days and I don't feel it is something to get too concerned about. Also a lot of previous activity particularly in responses was created by bots.

There's so many factors as to what's happening but I agree, nothing to worry about. Still in beta :P
