Ethereum Istanbul Hardfork

Ethereum continues to be developed into a serious flagship and Istanbul hardfork is the next to come.

Devs have recently approved the first of the codes changes for this next update to further improve the Ethereum blockchain.

Those updates are as follows...

EIP 2024 and EIP 1702

EIP 2024 will be updating the precompile from SHA-3 to Blake2 which is currently used by other cryptocurrencies such as zcash.

This will reduce the "gas" and will be able to better verify and authenticate the blockchain data.

This update would also mean that zcash could be wrapped up into Ethereum itself allowing for zcash to become a seemless part of ethereum which would most likely boost both coins.

EIP 1702

Overall this is a small update but one that will do huge things moving forward. What it will do is make upgrading Ethereum easier as they continue to develop and improve the Ethereum blockchain to support more dApps and move towards POS in early 2020.

As a side note I just wanted to put this into perspective for people as to the huge amount of growth still to come.

On State of the DAPPS We can see in total for ALL cryptocurrencies only about 100k people are currently using it of which ethereum is about 20k.

That number is so crazy small compared to the 327.2 MILLION people in the united states alone.

Talk about rising countries such as China with 1.5 billion India with 1.3 billion Japan 126 million, Germany 82 million and so forth and you can quickly see it is one very small fraction of the potential people that could be using cryptocurrency soon.
