Intro: Searching For My True CallingsteemCreated with Sketch.

Hello Dear Steemians,

I am Sam. I am one of the two bulls in the BitBulls team.

For last several years my job has been “taking bitcoin community by storm” just for our clients. Whatever that marketing pitch means to the Steemians, to us it meant running campaigns for clients in cryptocurrency / blockchain space. I mean all kinds of campaigns, from contests, giveaways, bounties, to content designing, social media marking, so on and so forth. I’ve been amongst the early bitcoiners, starting out as a bounty hunter and building up to a sophisticated algo-trader. Trading, mining, lending, borrowing, bounty hunting, consulting, you name it; I’ve done it all.

I still mine Bitcoin and Ethereum, and stay on top of the crypto marketplace. My broad hands-on experience comes handy to my clients. I love every bit of what I have been doing for previous so many years. But should I be a bounty hunter all my life? Or keep taking the crypto community by storm for a living? Or is there a bigger purpose in life, which is still not clearly visible to me. I do subscribe to the theory that each one of us is put on this earth to do something wonderful with his/her life.

But do you actually search for your true calling, or plan for it? After going through hundreds of blogs from so called experts who teach you how to find or plan your true calling in 3 steps, 5 steps, 6 steps, or in 20 steps.

The Google search for discovering my true calling made me more confused and restless. Did Mother Teresa take the n-number of steps that experts teach, to find her calling? She was a very satisfied teacher at Loreto Convent, until, as she herself described it, "the call within the call" came when she travelled by train to the Loreto convent in Darjeeling from Calcutta for her annual retreat. "I was to leave the convent and help the poor while living among them.”

Did Mahatma Gandhi plan his calling when he left India to become a successful barrister? His true calling came only when he was face to face with the pain of apartheid that his fellow Indians were subjected to.

Contrary to what self-help Gurus teach, I came to the conclusion that, to find your true calling, you don’t have to be unhappy with what you are currently doing, and, secondly, you don’t have to plan or search for your true calling. It isn’t a success strategy or anything like that. It’s more like love.

You don’t plan or strategize love, it just happens. It’s a product of happenstance rather than a well-planned strategy. Nevertheless, you do get a hunch though as you get closer to your true calling. Like I am beginning to get that hunch. But is my true calling in evolution? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, would love to engage in a conversation with fellow Steemians, who found their true calling or whose quest for their true calling is still on.

And, one more thing before I close this post: As evolved human beings, there’s something in our genetic code that brings us all together, if it’s not love, if it’s not caring, it is at least “sharing.”

And, I am as human as any human would expect to be upvoted, resteemed and followed, if my intro was worthy enough. I do promise a return gift though. LOL. So shall we?

Thanks #hien-tran for the welcome. Well, I just got started. Long way to go. I sure will have fun with the community. By the way did you find your true calling?

Great intro @bitbulls. Thought provoking take on "true calling". Yes there's indeed no protocol to plan your true calling. It just happens. Upvoted, resteemed and followed.

Looking forward to seeing more of you. And, of course eager to receive my return gift. LOL

Thanks for your kind words, and good to see you agree with my perspective. Life is never so planable as most life coaches make it out to be. But then that's how they make their living.

I am as much eager to come back with your return gift. LOL

Let's keep the conversation going for now. Thanks again.

So very true. Life coaching is a business, so the self-help guru's have to come up with an easy to comprehend formula that sounds like a structured protocol of clearly defined steps. It's like you take those steps and whatever you wanted to achieve you hit it.

Here's another life coach's business teaching you how to follow your "true calling"

You are right on the money. And, it makes marketing their formula so much easier.

“Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.” As Henry David Thoreau’s most famous words imply, only very few people like Mother Teresa or Gandhi truly, fully live their calling. Most of us hit the grave without knowing their purpose in life.

But hey, @bitbulls, great intro. Welcome to Steemit.

Thanks @benadaam. That's precisely the thought behind my ramblings here. As much as Thoreau's thesis may be right on the money, I don't wanna hit the grave without singing my song. Of course everyone who finds his / her "true calling" does not become a Mother Teressa or a Gandhi, but hey at least they lead a purposeful life. That's all I want from my life.

Finding your true calling is one thing, and successfully pursuing it is quite another. Very few who discover their true calling do reach the finish line. What you make of your life depends on the circumstances of your life's journey.

@benadam @brad-saunders @cryptoriddler @darius1993 @pokerman @sharonomics @ubilockon @wiseowlcoaching: Thank you very much for the follow dear Steemians. I followed you back.

Thanks also if you upvoted and resteemed this post. If you didn't yet, please do. Didn't I say the return gift is waiting for you. LOL

Thought provoking post! Personally I think I'm in the process of defining or identifying my calling! Discovering your niche is the way to go I suppose and that's what we've been doing.
Cheers, welcome to steemit partner!

Thank you for upvoting, resteeming, following and commenting. I followed you back.

Yes," niche" is the word. Unfortunately most of us never know or discover their niche during their lifetime. So much of talent just goes waste.

Every human being is unique and gifted with at least one quality that stands out from everyone else. The key to living a full and successful life is discovering that niche quality and exploiting it to your fullest.

Hey! You made a great choice joining this awesome community. You’re going to have a great time here. Keep Steeming!

To share is human. To expect nothing in return is divine.
