They call it the End of the Road, a final destination for west-bound nature lovers, ocean worshippers and adventure seekers.

This town of 2,000 Tofitians is so passionate about their favourite water sport, I was told, that in the rare event of a tsunami warning, surfing zealots will make a mad dash for the open ocean instead of escaping to higher ground, determined to spend their last moments on the ride of their lives.

For non-surfers, the beaches are the reward for hikes through ancient forests

Just recently getting back from my trip to Tofino Canada, for some good Island surfing and camping. It was simply amazing. If you have not been there before it is something you have to add to your list. Starting from the food to the people everything was amazing. You cannot walk 5 feet without seeing 10 surfboards and at least 5 people saying Hello or a GIGANTIC smile for you.

The wild life is magnificent. From whales, bears, and eagles Tofino is filled with it.
