It is possible but I personally think unlikely. Plus ethereum has it's own issues.

Ethereum was NOT meant to be used as a currency, but rather the gas by which to run smart contracts. Perhaps look at one of the many assets created on the ETH blockchain that has been designed specifically to be a currency.
