What is Mintos?

It's a marketplace for peer-to-peer lending based in Riga, Latvia. They bring investors together with borrowers of various loan originators, with loans originating all across Europe.
They also offer a secondary market for loans, where you can decide yourself what discount or premium to ask or to accept. Other than that, many loans come with a "Buyback guarantee".
Meaning if they don't get paid anymore, after 60 days the originator takes them back from you and you still get your interest.
(Naturally the interest rates on these loans are slightly lower than on loans without such securities.)

Who can invest?

If you are European and have a bank account here, you are lucky. Sorry, Americans. At this time you cannot invest here.

My experience after 9 months:

After around 9 months, I am quite happy with the results. My net annual return is calculated at 11.41%, with 94 of my 123 investments being current and only 4 being more than 30 days late.
