SegWit wird heute aktiviert - SegWit activation today

Heute ist es endlich soweit. Nachdem kurz vor dem ersten August eine Mehrzahl der Miner der Implementierung von Segwit zugestimmt haben, ist es in ein paar Stunden soweit. SegWit wird in ca. 9 Stunden eingelockt und ist somit vollumgänglich aktiv. Doch was heißt das? Zu allererst natürlich die gewünschte Erhöhung der Transaktionen pro Sekunde von ca 6 auf ca 13 (ca. 8400 Transaktionen pro Block). Doch ist das nun gut oder schlecht? Wie wird sich der Kurs danach entwickeln?

Das kann man natürlich nie vorhersagen. Wir können es lediglich mit vorhergehenden "SegWits" vergleichen. Bei Litecoin war es beispielsweise so, dass der Preis bis zum Lock-In stark gestiegen ist und danach wieder sehr stark gefallen.

Kann man das auf Bitcoin übertragen?

Meine persönliche Meinung: Nein.

Einfach aus dem Grund, dass Bitcoin eine ganz andere Größe im vergleich zu LTC hat. Viele Investoren werden das auch beachten und deswegen eventuell auch erst nach dem Lock-In einsteigen. Wie es sich jedoch entwickeln wird, sehen wir erst in knapp 9 Stunden.

Today SegWit will finally lock in. After the signalisation of many miners shortly before august the first today is the day in which segwit will lock in. Just in about 9 hours SegWit will fully be implemented and used by most of the miners. But what does that mean for me as a bitcoin investor? First of all of course the possibility to have no double as much transactions as before (around 8400 per Block). But is that good or bad news for the bitcoin? Where will the price be after SegWit?

Well of course you can´t say. But you can look back on other "SegWits". Litecoin for example had one. The price was rising until Segwit got activated. As soon as it was implemented, the price was going down.

Will bitcoin react similar?

Well my personal opinion is: no.

Just because of the fact that bitcoin is a much larger and a more accepted currency in comparison to LTC. But of course we will all know what happened in just about 9 hours
