Steemit suggestions for UI/navigation

in #steemit8 years ago

Here's a list of Steemit suggestions that I've thought up after being on this platform for a while. I hope that some of them are in development.

Before I make suggestions, I'd like to give Steemit props for the following:

  • Dark theme
  • New logo
  • Updated UI

Really, great job on the above. The platform is coming along nicely.

Now, here are my suggestions:

  • When writing posts, place the preview box next to the editor.
  • Allow the preview to be scroll-able. This will help us track our edits to make sure they're on the mark, so I don't need to scroll alllllll the way down and then alllll the way back up if I'm trying to tweak a little detail at the tail end of my post.
  • Allow users to filter by Steemit topic.
  • Allow users to subscribe to a Steemit topic.
  • On the "People I follow" page, make it so that users can filter out resteems vs. posts from friends. Lots of people resteem stuff, which is great, but sometimes I want to see my friends' OC.
  • Allow Steemit topics to have descriptions by them after you click on them. When writing about videogames, do I post in games, gaming, AND gamers, or is there a recommended tag that really hits the nail on the head? If each of them had a little description, it would help us tag better.
  • Allow users to filter by language. This would be GREAT for users trying to learn a new language (I'd like to learn Korean one day, when I have the time, and I'm excited to see so many Korean posts here).
  • Index tags and allow users to search easily based by tag.
  • Create a tool that will fix my crippling depression.

I think these fixes will help the value of Steem/SBD/etc increase as well.

Welp, that's all I got for you for today. Any thoughts?

Steem on!
