ULOG: 16 "Three counterfeit money dealers worth USD 121,621 were arrested in Bogor"

Bogor City Police secured three fake money dealers. The three actors, namely MU (48), HR (48) and RA (49) were arrested after the police pretended they wanted to buy counterfeit money in the Puncak area of Cianjur Regency on Wednesday (19/9).
Bogor City Police Chief Senior Commissioner Ulung Sampurna Jaya said, from the hands of the perpetrators, the police secured evidence of counterfeit money worth USD 121,621 .
"We had a car hit by the perpetrator because we tried to run away. We secured three people, one managed to escape," said Ulung, Thursday (9/20).
Ulung added, the results of the interim examination, the perpetrators claimed to circulate counterfeit money by offering prospective buyers a comparison of one real money and two counterfeit money.
To be sure, he continued, they brought samples of counterfeit money to be shown to prospective buyers.
"Counterfeit money is of good quality, it can get away from the ATM machine. For sale, one real money of Rp. 100 thousand becomes counterfeit Rp. 200 thousand," said Ulung.
As for the safekeeping evidence in the form of 1,800 counterfeit notes in Rp. 100,000 denominations, two unspecified Rp.100,000 counterfeit newspapers and one 50-dollar counterfeit counterfeit newspaper.
For their actions, they were charged with Article 36 of Republic of Indonesia Law number 7 of 2011 concerning currency with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
"We still continue to understand, where the money is, where the printing is, for what, and others. We will also involve parties from Bank Indonesia to check the quality of counterfeit money," he concluded.
