DRESS IS THE MIRROR OF CHARACTER

Dress is the index of character. We can judge a man from his clothes. In past the caste and creed distinction were more rigidly observed then they are today. People of different classes and professional used to put on different types of dresses. A teacher, a business man , a sailor, a Brahmin could be easily recognised by their dresses. Today the caste and class are in the melting pot and distribution in dresses are disappearing very fast and these are least marked.

Today we come across men of different trade and professionas dressed alike. We can find and an ambassador, an IAS officer, the manager of a bank , a clerk or a teacher in similar dress code.

But similar clothes may betray differences by the manner in which they are maintained. Whether they are well washed or shabby. A man of childish taste will select gaudy color, a hip hop follower will stitch in the latest Hollywood designs. Where's a man of conservative taste will try to put on clothes of sober color and their stitching will also be less ultra modern. A rich showy person will put on very expensive clothes and a poor will put on coarse and cheap clothes and so on. Carelessness in matters of clothes reveals carelessness in other matters of life. So we can say that person's habbits are reflected in their clothes.
