Life without God is lifeless, so this morning let us look at something from the Bible.

In the scriptures the love of God shines out more brightly than any other of His attributes. As one of the Godhead, the father possesses all natural and moral attributes of the Godhead

The love of God

"God is love" 1 John 4:8
The word "Love" signifies such a variety of different things that it is difficult for us to grasp the meaning in the Biblical words used to speak of God's love.

The New Testament #agape is the love units highest and fullest sense. It signifies a love that is persistent, and unrelenting, that will not let it's objects go.
Applied to God, it speaks of His loving nature which leads Him to expressions and acts of interest and loving care and self-sacrifice in behalf of the objects of His love. It is love that is selfless and is extended even to those who don't respond to its expressions . In turn, agape becomes the word used to express mankind love for God. Thus, agape is a reflection of and responds to God's love for us. It also expressed the fullest love of Christians for each other and for the lost. The OT word that most nearly expresses the meaning of agape is Chesed. Taken together chesed and agape present a vivid picture of the spontaneous love of God, demonstrated in acts of mercy and blessing.

The fatherhood of God

The love of God is revealed in all His relationships
The love and fatherhood of God are fundamental in Christian faith.
The love expressed by the father is the same love that is revealed in the sacrifice of Christ
God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself (2 cor 5:19)
The father and the son Jesus Christ
There are mysteries in the divine relationship that are beyond human understanding.
This applies to the relationship between the father and the son.
It is not a biological father-son kinship such as human beings know
The Father and all mankind
God is the Father of all mankind because He created them
All humanity are included in God's plan of salvation
He also bestows His blessings upon all
He invites all to salvation
The Father and the believer

God as the Father of those who have accepted as true and living God and Jesus Christ as His son and our Savior differs from God as the Father of all men.

This relationship is made possible by the ministry of Jesus Christ and the relationship is made possible by the new birth. It is spiritual rather than physical experience.

The Government Of God

The Bible gives us little specific information concerning the government of God. Whatever the exact form of Gods government, it must be in harmony with His character.
God is love, therefore divine love must necessarily be the principle and foundation of His government.
The exercise of His power is under the dominion of His love and His holiness, purity and truth make a standard of perfection set before all as the goal of life (Matt 5:48)
God's love does not compel a person to make decisions contrary to his/her choice, God also deals fairly and justly with all on the basis of their choices and decisions.
All created beings in the universe are subject to divine laws. No one can continue to exist if he/she persists in a course of action contrary to the divine plan. God is the source of all life, and any continued separation from Him separation from life-death.
The laws that regulates God's government are expressions of love, power, purity, truth, and life the characteristics of God.
Their purpose is to guide created beings in the development of character as nearly as possible

The love and Fatherhood of God are fundamental in Christian faith and God was in Christ reconciling the word unto Himself (2 cor 5:19)
