Marriage is a union between two people of opposite sex for a common goal. Marriage means love and love at its best because a man is not likely to pick someone he does not love. Marriage without love is a failure.

Marriage originated in Eden, (Gen. 2:18). It is divine institution. It is created bybGod at the beginning of Human history, after creation. God saw that the very first human he made was lonely. He notified that it was not good for him to live alone. God caused Adam to sleep, and he took one of His ribs to create a very beautiful woman.

Marriage of convenience -
a. an agreement between two or more countries, business or people only made for political or economic reasons.

b. a marriage for political or economic reasons, not for love.

PURPOSE OF MARRIAGE

• For companionship

• For helpmate purposes - some to help you financially, spiritually, help you from falling to comfort you

• For procreation - to bear children

• For friendship

• For pleasure or enjoyment - we have to enjoy each other with sex lives

"Non-living reasons" - for participating in sex

• Sex often permitted as a marital duty
• Sex is offered to repay or seek a favor
• It represent conquest or victory
• It stands as a substitute for verbal communicating
• It is used to overcome feeling or inferiority
• It is an enticement for emotional love
• It is a defense against anxiety and tension
• It is provided or withheld in order to manipulate the partner
• It is engaged in for the purpose of bribing together

The non-living reasons for participating in the sex robs it of meaning and reveals it to empty and frustrating social gain.
