DEMONIC SHADES

Once, they invaded my abode
In their reds and blacks
They struck fear into my heart
With their height and might
They came at night
With their swords and spears
They looked ugly
In their smell and stench
Whispered to my ears
In their codes and tongue
Words only understood
In their realms and kingdom
I asked what they wanted
In my fright and pleas
I trembled
On my knees and feets
They wanted my blood
In their mouths and bellies
I felt vulnerable
In my camp and shell
And I knew
At that time and moment
I had to fight
To save my life and soul
They would stop at nothing
To end me once and for all
For it wasn't a movie
Of blood and sand
It was a reality
of life and death.
