Checking your Voting Power
One of the critical metrics you should be monitoring that for some (stupid) reason steemit does not directly show you is your Voting Power. Every time you vote it costs you Voting Power. Voting Power (VP) replenishes at a rate of about 20% every 24 hours (trickled back each block every ~3 seconds).
How can I check my Voting Power?
The easiest ways are to use https://steemd.com/ or if you are a member of @shadowbot you can check it in your account on https://shadowbot.us/
Does my VP really matter?
YES! Every time you vote your VP goes down! If you do not let it replenish each day your votes will be worth less. An account at 10% VP with 100,000 Steem Power is only worth as much as an account at 10,000 Steem Power but 100% VP! This means even if you have a lot invested in your Steem Power, if you do not manage your VP properly, you will actually be loosing and worth less than if you had a fraction of what you invested!
Steemit has huge gaps in frontend and user experience as a whole.
Steemit more info - browser addon which could fill some of the gaps. Not ideal but a solution.
