Speed Leg Drag, Counter defense to Back take and Submission ( BJJ Tutorial)
Here is a BJJ tutorial for my leg drag pas. Have had great success with in practice and in tournaments. I primarily use leverage and torreada( bull pass).
This specific variation taught to me by a Marcelo Garcia black belt is very quick. I added the counter that a Renzo/ John Danaher blackbelt taught me and the finish I added myself. Like so many of us we are a amalgam of all our teachers and then we find our own jiujitsu.
It’s a pass, with a added twist if the guard player defends that leads right into a submission trap.
A) - Pop the knee by placing far jab on knee and push. Close side hand pushes ankle inwards. That locks the hip and you can show the leg across the hip real quick.
- Drip down and cover leg with body weight. - You have a clear path to pass or back.
B) - Before you can drop body down, guard player recovers by trying to ind your far shoulder with foot.
- Don’t let go of leg, grab inside knee and duck under, catch recover leg on shoulder.
- Drip in between gap and grab far lapel, don’t let go of leg.
- Free hand slides under guard players far shoulder as he ( most likely will try to recover to knee or granby roll.
- Catch fat collar and sit back, pull trapped leg and collar for a choke.
Enjoy !
Try it out, test it, let me know what you think.
Have fun rolling.

The big man with a tight combo! I only train nogi 20% of the time but find myself loving the stuff that works in nogi 100% of the time.
More videos! Awesome technicque!
Thank you, I been following your posts as well. Your support is very encouraging. Try this pass. Usually I don't have to do the extra counter in no gi, its a quick pass and I just drop.
