A way to view Steemit/ Steem and the rewards- A novice perspective

Lately I seen many post and comments from people complaining about not making" a living wage on Steemit". Complaining about rewards, whales and the platform being not living up to their expectations.
I been loving it so far. I seen allot of people that have more valuable pots and worth complaining. I don't see many third world residents complaining.
This is a such a valuable tool I can imagine for many Africans and South East Asians, and if we take a step back and actually realize. We are mining cryptocurrency. Creating worth and money through our own efforts.
I felt ned to post a different perspective.
Do people realize how cool Steemit is ? That we can mine our own currency without ASICS or huge GPU/CPU power ?
Here I am presenting two different ways to view Steemit that has helped me on my time here and kept me enthusiastic.

Totally agree, I realize that greed keeps coming from the same places on earth. Hence, I am happy a lot of times when my upvotes can help someone having a hard time in Venezuela where they can feed themselves a whole week with just 5 SBDs.

We lose perspective with greed, and this trend of looking to the big whales and try to be like them. I am here since December, and hell I am happy with my growth, to be honest I remember my first payouts of more than 50 cents and got so happy about them.

As always, we get a nice car, a huge house, all, and then once we get used to we want more. Not more, but even better than our luckier neighbor.
