Early June Garden Update 2019
I am very grateful for the abundance of rains we have been blessed with this grow season.
My locale, I always say, is in this little invisible protected "bubble" of climate where we seem to get enough rain but because of the local hills, ridge-lines and valleys, we manage to miss all the destructive winds as they seem to move around the highlands.. as any orographic feature would do to the ocean of the atmosphere.
And planting everything on a slight slope helps to prevent flooding from the incessant rains.
But we have been very lucky thus far and if the pattern continues, we should see an abundance of success come harvest time.
Some of the plants I noticed looked to be struggling with nutrients as they develop fruit and compete with their neighbor and thus I went around and gave a light fish fertilizer with a pinch of epsom salt to all the poolside and container plants.
I realize, after observing the absence of growth from seedlings in the greenhouse in re-used soil, how important it is to properly reinvigorate the used soil with the right nutrients to allow good growth again. Otherwise.. plants will struggle to grow.
All made possible by the abundant rains we receive from Mother Nature on a near daily frequency. Hopefully, the intensity of the storms that come this Summer are of lesser intensity however.. we don't need a tornado.
And I really don't like the animal thieves that have stolen all the unprotected goods.
All the rain certainly helps to keep these swimmers alive with all the fresh water, because they currently need it. I would save them from certain death if the water got too low, they just need some fresh water to dilute their own wastes.
I thank the Heavenly Father for the successful grow season thus far. And I pray everyone else is having as much success as we are here.
Our little flesh plant is also growing very well. Best plant on the land, by far..
Take care y'all.
Hey @biffybirdcam, I see your garden is doing great, everything is growing, including the little one, the cute one. It was great to recognize the vegetables and spices. You're going to have a great harvest. Good luck.
Wow looking fantastic! You are going to be able to feed an army if that comes in. Your work from last year is starting to pay off.

Everything is growing so large, I always plant so much in the beginning and become overwhelmed later on... I love it tho.

Beautiful garden. Everything is developing so perfectly. I loved those close-up photos of some vegetables leaves. One can almost taste their freshness.
May all good things keep happening.
Will you be selling part of the harvest in local farmer's markets or will that be just for family and friends?
That little man is growing even healthier than the plants. Pretty attentive eyes he has.
Blessings
Such a lovely post. You have such a beautiful and varied garden. Sounds like it is lots of work for you but a labor of love. We could definitely use a little more rain around these parts. We usually get a lot more than we have. Perhaps a bit more wet will hit us before summer begins in earnest.
I have to ask. Who was the looker there at the end. What a cutie.
Hello @biffybirdcam
a great job, but certainly a great satisfaction !! working the land and then enjoying its fruits is a wonderful thing, it gives us the measure of the greatness of mother nature and the humility that man should have. With your love you make it grow day by day, like your beautiful daughter. Beautiful pictures!
Then will you sell the products of the land you collect?
congratulations and thanks for sharing with us
My son! And we give away a lot of our harvest to family and friends. Rarely sold.

Wow your produce looks amazing, those green chilies - vibrant colors. What's in the water, fishes or something else? I could understand that part. Your little baby is so cute, round and adorable like a poster baby :):) Congrats on your curie :)
You have so much dill! It's my favorite herb. I love to sprinkle it on boiled potatoes with parsley and little bit of mint. It's an amazing combination.
And that lettuce of yours! YUM! And you have your own blueberries! :) So many things.. all looks healthy and delicious..
And your baby is adorable - those big eyes!! WOW! :)
Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!
