Always warm up and stretch before climbing, and cool down and stretch after climbing to reduce after workout soreness.
Be aware! Most accidents happen during lowering of the person climbing because this is when we are most dependent on the equipment and the skill of the bilayer. Concentrate on the task at hand.
Climbing signals should be used all the times. This is for the safety of your partner and yourself.
Double check gear, rope and safety system before leaving the ground.
Enjoy climbing relax! Don't forget to BREATH while executing difficult moves.
Falling on the rope is an integral part of climbing. FALLING is not. This may result.
I serious injuries or death. Be aware specially during belaying down your partner.
- The Climbing Rope

- Dynamic -
- Static -The Carabiner
The Carabiner is a snap link made of lightweight aluminum alloy with a spring gate. German rock climber Otto Herzog made the first rock climbing in 1910 adapting them from the steel firemen's karabiners. Breaking strengths are 3500-5000 lbs or 1575-2250kg.
- Uses of the Carabiner
- To clip climbers to belays and anchors
- To clip ropes to protection
- To suspend climbers from direct aid points.
- The Harness
The harness is considered the safest link between the climber and the rope. It is use for free climbing, and climbing, mountaineering, glacier travel, rappeling.
- Rock Climbing shoes and Chalk

Rock climbing shoes are specialized foot ware for rock climbing. The difference sticky rubber on a shoe specially designed for more sensitivity on the soles.
- Chalk
This is a white powder gymnants chalk (Magnesium Carbonate) and is use by rock climbers to maximize friction against rock by drying moisture on the hands and fingertips.
- Belay Devices
Belaying is the managing of the rope by one climber (the belayer) while the other climber climbs, either leading or seconding. In case of a fall, the belayed arrest the fell of the climber by some friction method and bring the climber to a halt. When catching a fall, belayers arrest considerable energy. This energy is concentrated on the rope and belay device and the anchor. Strong belays and anchors are therefore, essential.

-Use for tying into your harness.
-Used for belaying anchors
Used for double tying into your harness with a normal figure eight (Figure 7A). (Tie a normal figure eight knot, which locks into a locking binder to your harness, then with tail, instead of tying a stopper now; you tie a figure eight follow through into your harness, which acts as a secondary knot to the figure eight).
Used for tying around your self, or a tree

Anchors: Natural/Bolted

BOLTED: At the top of many climbs there are bolts, or fixed anchor points. These have been put there by the people who established the rout, for practical purposes, or the unavailability of natural protection.
3-POINT NATURAL ANCHOR PLACEMENT. In this situation, there are no bolt at the topof the climb, so climbers have to use devices that slot into cracks, or loop around rocks, or trees.
BOULDERING

Climbing boulders outdoors or in gym is a good way of getting familiar with climbing. A single boulder can offer a variety of routs cover a wide range of difficulty. Bouldering builds confidence in your ability to execute extremely difficult technical moves that may be encountered in a lead rout. You may practice these moves with relative amount of safety while bouldering.
