We are Killing Our World
We have turned our cities into food deserts. We are deforesting the land. We seem to be hellbent on making the Earth unsuitable for human habitation. A dry, lifeless planet could be our future, or more likely our lack of future.
The evidence continues to accumulate. This story came out a few months back. It concerns the drop in insect populations around the world.
When the populations of lower members of the food web are collapsing, how long before it’s us?
As the New Year approaches, maybe it’s time to take a closer look at the impact each one of us has.

Luckily, there are some farmers going to low-till/no-till, reducing chemical and synthetic inputs and raising their animals in a more humane manner.
Some urban farming is starting to catch on too.
While still nowhere near where we should be, its getting better, even if just incrementally.
We didn't get into this situation over night and we won't get out of it too quickly either.
Don't lose hope... its about all we have left!
I haven’t lost hope. I keep it because I have grandchildren. I want a clean, sane, and abundant world for them.
Thank you for this post. Articles about environmental issues, conservation etc. are not very popular here on Steemit but I really appreciate these efforts.
It’s time to change that. It can be done with a network of concerned people getting the word out through posts and resteems. This topic should top almost every other subject.
