Abandoned Houses
Hello, this is my first post and thought it would be fun to enter customnature,s Abandoned Shit Weekly contest.
This was an abandoned beach house on the abandoned (uninhabited) Shell Island located near Panama City, Florida.
It has since been repaired and is used as a temporary getaway.
Found these two (above) hiking St.John U.S. Virgin Islands 2015. Lots of good exploring, and unfortunately probably more abandoned houses now that they were hit by huge hurricane a few months ago :(
This is an abandoned lighthouse keeper's lodging on the little island of Cubrita of the east coast of Puerto Rico.
Very beautiful place, but remote and I imagine the harsh isolation that a lighthouse keeper had to endure over a hundred years ago.
Lots (previous 3 photos) of abandoned houses on Grand Turk Island of the Turks and Caicos Islands. 2014
A majestic house on top a hill on the Island of South Caicos appeared abandoned. 2014
This photo is from Jamaica 2011. It is rare to find anything abandoned there, as many live in the most modest of accommodations.
This was located at top of Bowden Bay, and was part of the United Fruit Company compound hence its ability to remain abandoned.
There is also an abandoned Island Resort that belonged to Errol Flynn that I found very exciting to explore.
The two above are from Rum Cay Bahamas an Island that sits in the path of many hurricanes.
A very harsh place to live so many leave the island for better opportunities. Photos from 2011.
This one used to be mine. I bought some land and this was one of three abandoned houses on it.
It's demolished now. Homes Valley NW Florida 2006.
Hope you enjoy, and thanks for visiting.
