Tasteem Review, Cheap And Fabulous Economy Rice
Shops or restaurants serving ready cooked meal is quite common and really popular in Asia. Just like any fast food chains such as KFC or McDonalds, these foods can be served really fast, and it is good for those who are in a hurry and wanted a quick meal.
The Jojo J.R Kitchen, located at Donggongon Town is one of many similar shops that provides such services, but what makes this restaurant stood out among the other shops is the number of foods (mostly cooked in Chinese of Malay Style) for customers to choose from, and it is really cheap too.
Just look at the varieties of ready cooked food that they displayed, there are at least 50 types of dishes that you can choose from. It's a self-service buffet table and you need to pay based on the quantity and types of dish that you have taken, on top of the rice of course.
Normally, people will choose 3 types of dishes, either 2 vege + 1 meat / seafood, or 1 vege + 2 meat / seafood type dishes. More than that you will surely have to pay more than the standard price. Here are some examples of how they will charge you based on the dishes that you have chosen.
I was just accompanying my wife and daughter for dinner as I had quite a heavy tea-break earlier with my office colleagues. I observe them when they stood at the display counter choosing their favorite dishes, and it took them nearly 10 minutes to decide. They really had a hard time to choose as there are too many yummy foods to choose from.
Finally, they got back at the table and I took the picture of their meal.
They both took 4 to 5 types of dishes, but at a small amount. Guess how much does this 2 meals costs? Each only costed about RM7.00 or USD1.68, it's really cheap and delicious too.
The restaurant is clean and the staffs are quite friendly, but the spaces in-between tables is a bit too narrow. I felt a bit uncomfortable when someone is sitting behind me. Its a good place to have a quick meal, but not a great place to hang out.
However, I still do recommend you guys to drop by and had a taste of their lovely and delicious food, but be warned in advance, you will surely have a hard time choose the one you liked the most. Lol.
