Are you too old to watch cartoons?
Most adults has the perceptions that cartoons are only meant for kids entertainment only, and it is almost like a taboo for some adults to admit that they also enjoy watching it. First of all, I'm not talking about animated film or movies such as Disney's Frozen, Beauty and The Beast or Tangled, but more like Ben 10, Power Puff Girls or Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Come on, get real. Cartoons are made by adults, the imaginations and ideas also came from an adult, so why can't an adult watch it if it is entertaining to them? When my daughter was 4 till she was 7 years old, she loves to watch cartoons, so while taking care of her and make her sit still, I will watch it together with her. I admit, I love watching it too as it is funny and entertaining, but some cartoons are just too darn stupid to watch.
For me, cartoons are not just for kids, it is meant for all types of ages no matter if you are 40 or 60 years old. Cartoons are meant for entertainment, and for me, as long as it is entertaining that can make smile, laugh or even cry, there is nothing wrong watching it. Honestly to say, watching cartoons brings back the memories and the inner innocent little boy in me, and that is nothing to be ashamed of.
That's right. Also, at present, some cartoons have a highly developed plot and depth that escape the innocent mind and it is hard to believe that this content is directed to them.
True, I realizes that cartoons especially anime from Japan are more meant for adults than children, and other countries like the US makes more cartoons for kids.
I don't know how old is your daughter now, perhaps you should realize there's this stage when she turn from young children to teenager, that's exactly where the hesitation came in. They're still very young but they think they're mature enough. Reason? Because they(we) already can tell what is REAL and what is not. People grow up and understand exactly what they(we) wanna see. It's not the cartoon, it's the people who watch them. I'm not saying you're wrong, but there's always choice for everyone. At my age, I choose to watch a Marvel movie, than cartoon. But when I got nothing better to watch, hell I'd still be watching Marvel cartoon to enjoy what a movie can't produce like throwing a bad guy fly to the moon.

You are right, as my daughter grew up, she watch less and less cartoons that are meant for toddlers and watches other types of tv entertainment instead. But when my little nieces and nephews came to my house, they will surely asks me to let them watch cartoons. I watch cartoons all by myself too when theres nothing interesting to watch on the telly, but I rather watch Animax or Disney channel cartoon rather than Nickelodeon.
P.S: My daughter is now 13 years old, and she rather watch Korean Drama or KPOP artist singing than watching cartoons. Time goes by ao fast.
