Now the first round of ICC CWC 2023 world cup is over. Four teams got selected to the world cup semi final stage , India , New Zealand , South Africa and Australia. Top 8 teams were qualified for the champions trophy 2025 and Sri Lanka didn't get that opportunity as they were ranked number 9 at the end of the first round.

Dilshan Madushanka was the only player who was able to get included in top player list under any category .. bowling , batting or as allrounder. But even that you can see that his economy is very high , that shows that Sri Lankan bowling attack should improve. They were not able to defend 350+ target against Pakistan. Adam zampa was able to finish the top bowler after the first round.
