Describe in your own words the main Advantages and Disadvantages (Pros and Cons) of NFT Games in relation to other types of games.

NFT in this context means “Non-Fungible Token” which are also types of crypto assets that are made to be unique from others and cannot be exchanged for each other because of their individual uniqueness.

NFT games are games that are built on the blockchain technology and rewards its users with NFTs which can be redeemed and sold for income. NFT games creates a source of income for its users through the NFT it gives to these users who play and develop special characters and win rewards which are tokenized to become NFTs. In a typical NFT game objectives are given to its users to achieve in order to receive these NFTs as rewards.

NFT games are now gaining grounds in the gaming industry as we have witnessed several NFT games excel in recent in recent years. There has been a good number of NFT games in the world that is currently making it possible for its players to monetize their time spent in playing these games by selling or trading their acquired digital assets. Some of the NFT games are Axie Infinity, Plant VS Undead, Mist etc.

ADVANTAGES OF NFT GAMES

IN-GAME ASSET OWNERSHIP

One of the features that is an advantage of NFT games is that users or players of these games have full ownership and control of characters and collectibles that he or she possess in the game and has the right to sell or trade it at any point in time.

SECURITY

As described earlier NFT games are run on blockchain technology and hence has the security of blockchain. Characters earned by users are very unique and can never be replicated or created fraudulently. In game assets are very secured and can be stolen.

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY

NFT games rewards its users NFTs which are crypto assets, and as we know the value of crypto assets can rise or fall based on the demand level so when a certain NFT has high demand its owner can decide to trade it and make some good cash out of it.

TRANSPARENCY

Every information of an NFT is accessible through the blockchain and as such the true owners of an asset can always be traced and known because data on a blockchain cannot be altered at any point in time. This offers transparency to its users.

DISADNANTAGES OF NFT GAMES

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

As we know these blockchains use machines with very high computing powers to mint these tokens, these machines are usually high energy consumption rate which makes it a danger to the natural environment.

EASY LOSS OF ASSET

One other disadvantage of NFT games is that the NFTS that is the assets can be easily lost. It can be lost through scams or sending to wrong address. Cybercriminals approach non suspecting users and scam them off all their assets and as we know these transactions cannot be reversed.

NO ACTUAL GAMEPLAY

One disadvantage of NFT games is that mostly they do not allow for users to actually have a feel of the action that goes on between their characters and their opponents characters. this makes it very boring at times and unattractive.

this NFT was sold on 24th august, 2021 on SuperRare for an amount of $81,696.38 to Anonymoux.

This is an art that was created after the 2020 US elections. The art shows Former President of The United States Donald Trump lying on the ground and having writings on his body. The most visible writing on his skin is “loser". This art was sold as an NFT on an NFT exchange called Gemini for a whopping amount of $6.6 million.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee who is the created of the world wide Web auctioned an NFT of his creation code of the world wide Web.
The NFT was sold for $5.4 million on June 30th 2021
The NFT is made up of 4 different pieces, which were time-stamped source code files, a video of the code's creation, digital poster of his code.and a letter by the creator

In 2005 a property was put ablaze intentionally to clear. While it being Controlled Zoe and his father who was a photographer went to visit the scene. His father took her a picture in front of the burning house and she was smiling. People would have expected her not to be smiling considering the situation she found herself. The picture between a global meme with people jumping on it. The Zoe who was 5 years at that time is now 21 years and decided to sell the original photograph as an NFT for $500,000

CRYPTOBLADES.

It was developed by a video game developing company called RIVETED GAMES it is a blockchain powered nft game that was launched on the BINANCE SMART CHAIN it is a web based game and hence available on several operating systems it was launched in 2014 by a team of developers who are listed below

The objective of the game is to give its users a gaming platform where they can fight with other users and rewarded with a token called skills which is only used on the cryptoblades to purchase in game asset or character and also to equip and train characters. It doesn’t really have a game play mode where users are seen fighting but the battles are finalized based on the abilities possessed by a user’s character. The native token of cryptoblades is SKILLS which is used for trading in the game and as rewards for winning battles. It is traded with BNB because it runs on the Binance Smart Chain.

The crptoblades skills is currently selling at $22.70 from coinmarketcap.

CONCLUSION
it has been a wonderful experience with video games been run on blockchain technology and more especially players are rewarded with assets that can be traded for cash. In the traditional games, people play for pleasure and for the fun of. NFT games has brought a lot of people’s interest in the gaming industry with its wonderful of serving as an investment avenue. NFT games are really good but also has a few weaknesses that could be addressed to improve them one of which is the lack of actual game play. Mostly the system of the games declares one a winner without real action taken unlike the tradition gaming apps.
