Cycloop Mountains also known as the Dobonsolo Mountains are located in Sentani District, Jayapura District was designated a nature reserve in 1995. It is also used as a center for research and development of science. Cycloop is the name given by a Dutch Colonial soldier. Cycloop comes from the word Cycoon Op (Dutch) which means small clouds below or mountaintop. While the local community (Sentani) call it with Robhong Holo which has the meaning of the area or water forest. Named Robhong Holo to arouse the intention of guarding the Robhong Holo Mountain Area from forest destruction that will impact the water cycle. This damage has been felt since entering the year 2000, the forest in this region has been cleared. Changes and forest destruction at the foot of the Cycloop Mountains are alarming. If not handled seriously, will disrupt the lives of the people of Sentani who live in the foot of the Cycloop Mountains. Currently the area which is actually a conservation environment, has been transformed into a residential community that affects the opening of new land, causing the source of water to be disturbed. Local people who open new land, their daily work is as farmers. Nowadays, the trees have been cut down and the springs are reduced.
