Incredible surfing experience and fell in love Siargao island, Philippines
Welcome to the surfing capital of the Philippines. Siargao island will take you to an amazing experience, spectacular blue sea and giant waves in the ocean. You'll definitely enjoy surfing with every paddle and ride you've made. The extreme sport fun experience. The island has many things to offer not just about surfing but also island hopping, snorkeling, caving, waterfalls, trees, mountains, scenic view of the coastal area and road trip. It's surprising that this island has only few Jeepney and most likely tricycle, and motorbikes for transportation. It's like a better place to live in, especially the road around the island is cemented you can go anywhere safe to drive by motorbike or any vehicles. One of a kind that I wanted to live in the future.
Here's, how I ended up my 10 days of staying in Siargao island
CLOUD9
TRAVEL, EAT, PLAY AND REPEAT that's how the traveler ended on this island.
Cloud9 is the main surfing spot in nearby General Luna. You can see the crowd of the surfers here! When I first saw the waves I thought I can't surf. I was too afraid to try! When I see people enjoying their surfboard and the big waves. Then I thought was very easy to handle. It actually helps to build confidence in myself.

It was a fulfilling experience and a dream come true to surf. I've not expect that I can make it. It's very enjoyable and fun extreme sport that it turns out as my hobby. Never easy thou for the first timer. However it's just need a timing, relax, avoid self tense and focuse for you to catch the waves. The surfers spend so much time for paddling. If you want to ride the waves paddle better.

CORREGIDOR ISLAND
Stop wondering....Keep calm, sit back and relax in the powdery white sand beach...
We supposed to avail the island tour going to the naked, Dako and Guam island which is touristy. After searching that visited island we decided not to go. I and @jiri look forward the corregidor island for beaching. We drove a motorbike going to Dapa city and dealt with the boatman. Luckily got a small boat which is good for two of us.I spot the surfing place next to the island. I saw few people were there! Upon the arrival @jiri quickly play to the water and fell in love the blue sea and view.
I'm literally got a tan skin but in real like a charcoal. Too much exposure from the sun since day one! Can't say no to this magnificent powdery beach.
MINI BATANES
>This is a mini Batanes version of Corregidor island..Take me to the nature, beach, and mountainside of the island.
A very impressive view of the mountain to the ocean. I'm so lucky to have this kind of place where I explored everything just me and @jiri at the time. It's a lot of vitamin sea in my eyes not just the ocean but also the greenery grass and coconut trees around on the top.
Allow me to introduce this fascinating view on the top of the mountain whom I called mini Batanes. If you are looking for a place like this you must visit this island it offers you the best view ever! The feeling itself like owning the whole island in my entire life. The fresh air, the sea breeze, and the overview everything is pure.
I am so grateful for the best experience I've tried. Life is full of fun and adventure !
At the end of this wooden bridge, there is a third-floor shade house where you can see the giant waves. A good spot for catching up the morning sunshine and sunset. People keep on coming because of that and sea breeze which is more relaxing place by the sea.
BOARDWALK

No, I didn't see the coverage of the sunset. It's just a shadow of the sunset that made beautiful on the first day of arrival on this island. It's unintentionally to get here! It just happens that we look for a place where to eat seafood and it brought here. Honestly, I am so happy to see it. The color of the shadows, the boats, and the sea meant for everything.
When I first saw this boat I immediately told myself that Let's go and sail around the island I fell in love.. Have you seen the guys they're just arrived from island tour and now parking their boat in the boardwalk. One day, in the future, I will try to sail around the world.
I called this seafood center. So far in this island the only area I could find. The place by the baywalk in General Luna at the back of the school and next to the boardwalk. We came to every night or lunch for seafood. It's just we became a regular customer to them. The reason why we kept coming, they sell an affordable price of seafood like squid, fish, and vegetables for grilling. And they grilled very well and tasty. In my 10 days of dining here never seen empty, it's always a lot of customer in most likely the same. You know why? Grilled seafood and beers are perfect for the night after surfing it will give you a satisfaction. One of the best enjoyable food and drinks!
MAGPUPUNGKO ROCK POOL
The rock pool it shown when it's low tide. It's incredibly beautiful! You'll definitely have a good time exploring it, you can dive, cliff jumping and snorkeling. I spend an hour swimming and to enjoy the crystal clear blue water.
At first I was wondering why it's called magpupungko until I realize that people usually come and sit on this rock pool while relaxing and enjoying this salty water then feel the sound of tidal wave.
TAKTAKFALLS
If you are looking for a cold water aside from beaching all day. This waterfalls offer you a different experience to appreciate. Well, the water wasn't clear since it was raining most of the days so not ideal for swimming. However, if you are lucky to have a sunny days then this might be better and inviting place to swim.
TAYANG BAN CAVE
The most challenging part of the trip is to explore the cave. I wasn't expected to see this kind of beauty inside. Although this place has many tourist in, it's quite impressive that still look untouched. They care and perserve this natural wonder.
COASTAL AREA OF SAN MATEO
Driving for so long don't matter if you got this view. It's interesting and captivating coastal view in the island.
ROADTRIP
Looking for a perfect view? Then this coconut trees and the mountains are really meant for you. If you are passing by here going to Magpupungko beach just stop for a while and feel the nature it's really refreshing.
WHERE TO STAY IN SIARGAO?
We already find a place to stay before coming to this place. We expected that most of the hostel / hotel are fully booked so we made the reservation through online at @Booking.com we're staying at @moonlighthomestay at the dorm which Php350 per night with breakfast. Third day we moved in to the cavy's homestay for 4 nights got a private room good for two then we just add extra bed for a friend only Php 660 per night without breakfast. For our remaining 3 days we stayed at Elvi's homestay for Php 350 per night including breakfast. If you are in the island already difficult to find a place except for the resort there are many but for budget traveler who wanted to stay in a hostel better to book online before going. This island is already touristy so many hostel around but most likely are fully booked.
The food in this island is not a problem since so many restaurant sometimes hard to choose. There are several massage shop if you want to relax and bars plenty around the general luna on the way to cloud9 area.
If you worry about where to rent motorbike there are renting shop around the area. If you want a good price long term is better like 1 week it will only 300pesos if less than 500pesos a day ($4-5)
First timer need an instructor for assistance and guidance. Surfboard rent is 200pesos but including isntructor 500 pesos per hour
How to get there in Siargao?
√two option take a plane or get a boat. (boat from pier1 of cebu city / mactan airport) (boat fare: 1,025pesos)
√boat from surigao city to siargao (300pesos)
√tricycle from dapa to general luna (100pesos each)
